Comments from Julian Power, Society’s Conductor following the Choral Singing Workshops last weekend.
It was a huge privilege to participate in workshops led by Tone Bianca Dahl especially so for the members of the Society who were joined by 14 other local choirs and people who have not sung in public before. Over 170 people registered for the weekend workshops including conductors from eight other Manx choirs.
The sessions were demanding but, from the many comments we received afterwards, everybody enjoy the workshops and the concert where there were performances of Handel’s “Messiah” and a beautiful section from a Schubert mass.
Participants were stretched up, down and sideways and explored different ways of generating sound and improving our tone and voice production.
